WEATHER IN MAY

May is the month when weather in Cyprus changes from spring to summer. In the beginning of May there are usually several days of windy weather with fresh spring breezes blowing in from the sea. By the end of the month temperatures begin to climb up towards the summer levels. Average maximum temperature for the month is 24°C on the west coast, 27°C on the south coast and 30°C inland. On the mountains it is cooler with maximum temperatures about 21°C. Still the temperatures may fall a bit at night towards the spring temperature level. Average minimum temperature is 15°C for the west coast and inland areas, 16°C-17°C for the south coast and 11°C for the mountains. The chance of rain is very small. Meteorological statistics show that on average it rains only 1-2 days in May.
